About Us
We use a multi-disciplinary team approach to felony child abuse cases. Our goal is to rescue children from abuse, prosecute offenders and offer hope and healing to child victims. Child victims are provided a compassionate and comprehensive approach to their specific case.
The Children's Advocacy Center provides a child friendly facility where children are greeted by amazing therapy dogs and K-9 Advocates, when they arrive for their forensic interviews, therapy and other victim services. Eighteen different agencies comprise the multi-disciplinary team that works all child sexual abuse, severe physical abuse and child witness to homicide and other violent crime cases.
The Children's Advocacy Center also facilitates the Johnson County Child Fatality Review Team which reviews all child deaths, and addresses preventable deaths with community education and training. The center also facilitates the Johnson County Christian Network for Foster Care and Adoption, striving to educate our community on the need for loving foster homes
In addition to these efforts, the center also has an amazing online safety and prevention program called B4U Click that was designed specifically to be used in schools. B4U Click was designed with the hope of preventing Jonson County kids from falling victim to online predators. It also has important information for parents that teaches them about privacy settings and how to manage social media with their kids.
