FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Property Tax Justice Foundation Joins Cleburne Chamber, Supports Homeowners During Protest Season
Cleburne, TX – The Property Tax Justice Foundation is proud to announce its membership with the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce as Johnson County enters the 2026 property tax protest season. Beginning May 1, homeowners can expect to receive their Notices of Appraised Value from the Johnson County Appraisal District. From the date of delivery, property owners have 30 days to file a Notice of Protest if they believe their property has been overvalued.
Led by a former Appraisal Review Board (ARB) member, Property Tax Justice Foundation brings firsthand insight into the protest process, including how appraisal districts present evidence and what is required to effectively rebut it. This unique perspective equips homeowners with the knowledge and strategy needed to navigate the system with confidence.
“Our mission is simple: educate, empower, and impact,” said Kimberly Jones, Founder of Property Tax Justice Foundation. “Most homeowners don’t realize they have the right to challenge their property value—or how much is at stake if they don’t. We’re here to change that.”
The Foundation offers:
- Educational workshops to help homeowners understand the protest process
- Guided support and coaching for do-it-yourself protests
- Professional representation for those who prefer expert advocacy
As a nonprofit organization, services are offered on a sliding scale, and no homeowner is turned away due to inability to pay.
By helping homeowners present strong, property-specific evidence, the Foundation works to ensure fair valuations—ultimately helping families keep more of their hard-earned money.
Homeowners are encouraged to act promptly upon receiving their notice to avoid missing the protest deadline.
