Jazz Heavyweight!

To most of us, the bassist, no matter how talented, is not the notable headliner on your jazz card.  Yet, to musicians, the first call when putting a band together is to the bassist.  That person will usually determine how strong the band will be.  In the North Texas area, the bassist on everybody's first-call list is Lynn Seaton.  Many professional bass players have studied with Seaton just so that their resume will reflect that they have been a student of the great Lynn Seaton.  Thus, when he puts together a jazz combo, it is a big deal!

Joining Lynn on the Songbird Live concert on Saturday, Oct. 13th (7:30) will be be drummer Hiroki Pete Kitazawa and pianist Peter Rioux. Both are rising stars in the jazz world! 

Seaton has appeared on over 150 albums, including Nirvana by Bucky Pizzarelli, and the Grammy Award winning Diane Schuur and the Count Basie Orchestra and the Grammy-nominated "Woody Herman 50th Anniversary," and the Grammy-nominated "No Nonsense" with the John Fedchock New York Big Band.
