Swing Dancing for beginners

Swing dance is a youthful, energetic dance that has been popular since the early 1930's. Music from every decade since has inspired swing dancers to create different styles of swing dancing. This class will cover a popular and versatile swing dance style called East Coast Swing or Ballroom Swing. People also sometimes call it Jitterbug or Rock & Roll dancing. East Coast Swing is characterized by fast footwork, underarm turns, and arm wraps; and can be danced to a wide variety of music from every decade. Scenes with East Coast Swing can be seen in movies like Blast From the Past and A League of Their Own. 

We specialize in beginners! At Dance Across Cleburne, we're experts in taking people who aren't dancers and turning them into people who are. NO DANCE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED to join any of our beginner classes. (Always consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise, including dancing.)

Join our swing class at any time by clicking our online store here and choose any group class package. Classes meet Wednesday nights at 7pm. Please contact us to let us know when you plan to attend.

You do not need to bring a partner -- you will rotate among all the partners present in the class.

Dress comfortably, including secure flat shoes.

All ages are welcome (most students are adults.)
