About Us

More Than A Century of Service. We partner with clients to meaningfully change their lives through research-backed services. We empower our clients to overcome poverty and deliver lasting impact.

Catholic Charities Fort Worth began in 1910 with a small group of women who were united by a purpose to be a voice for the voiceless. These women saw the needs and pains of the poor and took it upon themselves to support them and the well-being of their community. Times changed, and so did the needs of the community. CCFW opened St. Teresa’s home for children, which became an iconic representation of CCFW’s work. Continuing to evolve with services for refugees, immigrants and more social needs, CCFW expanded into one of the largest providers in the area. Today, CCFW has four campuses serving across 28 counties, invests in research and evaluation of results, creates out-of-the-box solutions, operates successful social enterprises, and advocates nationally for the poor.

We focus on five key areas of impact:
EDUCATION--completion rates are lower among low-income students who face non-academic barriers beyond financial and academic concerns;
EMOTIONAL RESILIENCY--trauma and chronic stress from poverty affect decision-making;
EMPLOYMENT--job searching is time-intensive, daunting and requires specific resources and skills;
FINANCIAL RESILIENCY--employment and stable income aren’t enough to protect a family from hardship or unexpected expenses;
RESOURCE STABILITY--research shows that even employed individuals struggle to meet basic needs (housing, transportation, childcare, etc).

Transportation is a key factor in helping a client out of poverty. Not having a way to get to job or job interview, a doctor's appointment, or grocery store is a major barrier for our clients.
Transportation services. We have 44 vehicles in our fleet of all different sizes for transporting clients.
Our Gabriel Project helps moms in need with maternity and baby items, and other financial emergencies. Each client has their own personal Angel who is there for them.
Gabriel Project gives hope to mothers who have no support or are struggling.
